Section Head and/or Senior Faculty: Heart Failure
The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time, non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator as a section head and/or senior faculty member in a busy and nationally renowned heart failure and heart transplant program. Candidates may be appointed at the rank of Associate or full Professor. Responsibilities include supporting the inpatient cardiology service and the ambulatory clinic. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in cardiovascular medicine, have completed ACGME-accredited cardiovascular disease and heart failure fellowship programs, hold board-certification in cardiology and heart failure, and have a strong bibliography of peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate research productivity and the ability to obtain extramural funding support. Preferred candidates will hold an ABIM certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. We are broadly interested in a clinician or clinician-scientist with an interest in multidisciplinary or translational science surrounding comprehensive heart failure and heart transplant, who will coordinate the system-wide heart failure quality program. The successful candidate will have experience mentoring trainees and junior faculty, and will seek to create a novel, multi-disciplinary research program. The successful applicant will have a strong portfolio of funding, including the coordination of clinical trials, will be an outstanding clinician, will have a strong publication record, and will have a disease interest that fits well within the ongoing work in the Division of Cardiology. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
