Medical Director, Aortic Disease (Cardiology Non-Invasive, Non-Tenure-Eligible Clinician-Educator)
The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Bluhm Cardiovascular (BCVI) Institute seek a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Associate or Full Professor who will serve as Medical Director of the newly formed Comprehensive Aorta Center (CAC) in the BCVI. Responsibilities include supporting the clinical, research, and educational mission of the CAC along with the Surgical Director of the CAC. This is a rapidly growing high-volume program with multiple options for Aortic surgery, outstanding clinical results, collaborations with 4D MRI Flow clinical and research programs, multimodality imaging, the BCVI Center for Artificial Intelligence, a tissue bank with a research track record, the Mehlman Bicuspid Aortic Valve Program, a “Code Aorta” program for acute aortic dissections (90 per year), and a genetic aortopathy program. A list of relevant publications is available upon request. Qualified candidates must be ambitious and highly motivated to lead this exceptional opportunity. At a minimum candidates need a strong background in cardiovascular medicine and aortic diseases, must have completed an ACGME-accredited cardiology fellowship program, hold board certification in cardiology, and have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications that demonstrates research productivity. Clinical responsibilities include attending on the inpatient cardiology consult service and ambulatory clinic. Salary is commensurate with experience. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
