Henry and Isabelle Dever Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Northwestern University invites applications for the newly established Henry and Isabelle Dever Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (at the rank of full professor). Candidates are expected to build a world-class research program, demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentorship in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the department, and to serve on departmental and university committees as a member of the faculty. The Northwestern ECE department nurtures a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research culture with a dedication to excellence. Northwestern provides opportunities and encourages collaborations across departments and with local national research labs, as well as global engagement, through dedicated institutes and centers. We seek candidates whose research interests are primarily in theory, computation, and design areas of ECE, and who will strengthen the strategic priorities of the department, the McCormick School of Engineering, and Northwestern University. Examples of research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, computing, communications, control, and sensing, quantum systems, microelectronic devices and circuits, embedded and cyber-physical systems, AI/ML, mobile health, robotics, sustainability and security in computing, computer architecture, and electromagnetic theory.
